A Consultation and Impact Report on a Public Health Walsall Commissioned Pilot Programme Delivered By The MIndKind Projects.
Phase One of Where I Am brought partners, practitioners and residents together to test what really works for men in Walsall. Through the Strategic Development Group, a borough-wide Men’s Forum and large-scale engagement, we built shared insight, trusted relationships and practical next steps that now power the Men’s Wellbeing Alliance. This report captures that collective groundwork and the voices of the men who shaped it.
The numbers reflect a truly joint effort: over 700 people engaged at events, 372 men completing the questionnaire, 1000+ men reached across programme activity, and 21 Ambassadors stepping forward—achieved with wide VCSE, public sector and business involvement across the borough. The Forum’s learning feeds directly into wider systems work, helping align local delivery with suicide prevention priorities.
MindKind’s role was to convene and coordinate the pilot so others could lead alongside us—co-designing, testing and improving ideas that any Alliance member can now adopt and scale. In that spirit, this report is offered as a shared foundation for our co-founding partners and the wider network: a practical evidence base to build from, not a spotlight on any single organisation
